We live in a society in which the individual and her/his rights are paramount. I’m glad that we have rights and privileges. But, the individual as being viewed as most important is trumped by the idea of community. Community forms individuals who possibly go on to form other communities. We in the Western world need to reflect on the way in which communities have formed us, and in particular how church communities have formed the individuals that make it up. The abiding question is: do communities form individuals to be sinners or saints?
